GRADE PLACEMENT:

All grade 1-12 students who are seeking admission to The American Creativity Academy will be given an “admission test” before they are admitted. The purpose of this evaluation is to get a more accurate picture of how a student’s academic skills meets ACA programs. Respective principals reserve the right to deny a student to sit for an entrance exam for middle and high school. If the admission test is administered and the student does not have a passing score on the exam, the school will reassess the student in the same academic year.

Students will be assigned the appropriate grade level, based upon age, previous records, current assessment results, English language proficiency, comprehension scores, and reading readiness and math (where applicable).

ACA closely observes and monitors the grade placement for all new students to ensure that students have been appropriately placed. ACA reserves the right to ask student(s) to leave the school if behavioral problems interfere with the educational process.

ASSESSMENT/ENTRANCE EXAM

Procedures for Assessment Testing:

  • Parents must submit a completed application form with all required supporting documents (see above).
  • All elementary applicants for grades 1-5 will have the right to be tested.
  • Principals will review all applications and determine whether the applicant may sit for an entrance test for middle and high school.
  • The applicant will be notified of the assessment date and time.
  • The applicant will sit for the entrance test on his/her scheduled day.
  • Applicant will be notified of the results as soon as possible, usually within 2 working days.

Accepted students must attend school within the first four days of the official start of the school year. Parents should fill out the appropriate form and obtain permission from ACA in advance if their child will be late for the beginning of the academic year. Students who fail to attend school for the first ten days of school may be withdrawn from the school and lose their place in their class.
